Lube : A quick beginners guide to choosing the best for your body

So what exactly is lube and why should you be using it?

Lube (or lubricant) is a substance that is used to reduce friction and enhance pleasure during sexual activity. It is especially useful for vaginal or anal intercourse, as it can help to reduce discomfort and increase enjoyment. Of course the vagina is self lubricating but this isn't enough for extended play or sex and can change depending on stress , health , age , hormones and that is completely normal. Major plus- its the gold star ingredient to pleasurable anal sex as your anus is not self lubricating. There are many different types of lube available, and it can be overwhelming to try to choose the right one. In this article, we'll go over the different types of lube and the benefits and drawbacks of each to make it easier for you to choose whats right for your body , because you deserve endless silky (friction free)  pleasure!

Types of lube- which is which , whats the difference and whats right for your body ?

Water-based lube:

Water-based lube is the most common and widely available type of lube. It is safe to use with condoms and most sex toys, and it is easy to clean up. However, it can dry out more quickly than other types of lube, so you may need to reapply it during use- however adding water when the lube begins to dry up will make it last longer!

 Silicone-based lube

Silicone-based lube is long-lasting and does not dry out as quickly as water-based lube. It is also safe to use with condoms and most sex toys. However, it is more difficult to clean up than water-based lube, and it can damage silicone sex toys- which is its main drawback!

     Oil-based lube

Oil-based lube is long-lasting and can add a feeling of warmth or coolness to sexual activity. However, it is not safe to use with condoms, as it can weaken the condom's material and increase the risk of breakage. It is also not safe to use with latex toys.

       Natural lube

Natural lube is made from ingredients that are derived from nature, such as coconut oil or aloe vera. For those of us who are super sensitive  or prone to UTIs , yeast infections or BV I wouldn't recommend- this is because its highly likely that the weight , type and thickness f these oils were designed and manufactured for cooking- However, some coconut oils are made and sold specifically as MCT oils which are much safer to try as a lubricant.

Another con of using natural oils is that you cant be sure of whether or not a condom may become weakened from the oils or that it may damage your toys. Some coconut oils are perfectly safe to use with condoms and some aren't- so best to stick with water based or natural lubes made specifically for sexual practices. They may not be as long-lasting as other types of lube, and it may not be suitable for people with allergies or sensitivities to the natural ingredients- such as aloe vera gels.

There are many different types of lube available and this makes shopping for them so exciting and enticing!

        Recap please! (TL;DR)
